Classes & Workshops
Come learn something new at Open Workshops!
We offer classes and workshops for a range of subjects, levels of experience, and ages - check out the subpages for details on each class! Tuition for most classes is $15 an hour and most classes are 2 hours long, but some may be longer or shorter or may charge extra to cover supplies and materials. We try to ensure classes are a mix of classroom and hands-on instruction; workshops are primarily hands-on and typically result in attendees walking away with a finished item of their own.
Have a question about a class or workshop? Wondering when a class will be offered next? Have an idea for a topic you'd like to develop or teach? Reach out to us at info@open-workshops.com!
Need-based Reduced Price Tuition Program
As part of our mission to make crafting and STEAM as accessible as possible, we’re happy to be able to offer a reduced-price tuition program. Reduced-price class tuition is typically $5 an hour, with the balance of the tuition paid by a generous grant from the Lei and Chen Family Foundation.
Ultimately, the primary qualification for reduced-price tuition is that you would have a difficult time paying for or justifying the expense of a full-price class, but we hope that students, teachers, senior citizens, WIC card holders, and many others will take advantage of this program.
We have a limited number of reduced-price tuition seats available, so if you don’t need one, please leave them available for those who do. We hope we won't need it, but we reserve the right to investigate suspected abuse of the program and to cancel class registration in cases of abuse.
Please look for the Reduced Price Registration option when registering for a class or workshop to take advantage of this program.
